I am originally from Oxford, England. I moved to Perth with my family in 2007 because.... I have 25 years of experience as an equine dentist, having completed my qualifications in the United States and the United Kingdom. I am certified by the British Equine Veterinary Associations/British Veterinary Dental Association in equine dentistry, and have held a number of positions internationally. These include Examiner for a number of Associations and as the European Director of the World Wide Association of Equine Dentists. My past clients include riders at National, European and Olympic competition level.
I am licenced by the Veterinaary Surgeon's Board of Western Australia to carry out category 2 corrective dental procedures, and to administer sedation.
From the age of nine I wanted to be a jockey and by the age of 13 I was riding fast track work. All my school books were covered in pictures of champion jockey Lester Piggot. Riding in America for a champion trainer at age 16 - arrived in the States with $18 and no credit card. I also had an offer of a job at a rodeo stable in California when I was xxx years old, however due to political events at the time I decided to stay in the UK. I lived in Germany when I was xxx, and worked as a track rider for a champion trainer in Koln. My dream was to win the Grand National, but I had to give it up due to weight/height problems when I was 21. At that time a local vet gave me a book on equine dentistry. In the back was a phone number for an equine dental school in Nebraska. I called it and two weeks later I was in the States again to commence my professional training.
My profession as an equine dentist has given me a career with horses....
